Purpose: This research investigates the role of trust on the willingness of sharing knowledge in scientific virtual communities through studying online scientific social networks.
Methodology: In terms of purpose, this is an applied research and the method of data collection is descriptive survey. Reseach population included all faculty members of the Shiraz University and the Persian Gulf University in Bushehr. Based on a population of 900 persons, a sample of 269 was determined for data collection through two questionnaires: Zhao (2010) and Wu, Chen and Chung (2010)
Findings: Results showed that trust and knowledge sharing had a correlation of 0/82, indicating a high impact of trust on willingness in sharing of knowledge. The highest effects of trust on knowledge sharing were through factors such as commitment with coefficient of 0/79, confidence with coefficient of 0/68 and online status with coefficient of 0/63. Also there were relationship between the variables of trust, satisfaction with beta coefficient 0/481 as the highest impact on the willingness to share knowledge.
Conclusion: According to the high impact of trust on the willingness of researchers to share knowledge in scientific virtual communities, it would be possible to plans and develop strategies to improve the level of trust and researchers’ eagerness to use such communities more than before.

Purpose: This study aimed to analyze the cost-benefit of preservation and maintenance of print and electronic collection (resources) in libraries and information centers.
Methodology: This is an applied research and used a mathematical model to analyze data. The model of research for opportunity cost analyze of print resources preservation consists of five variables: assets cost, maintenance cost, current cost, staff cost and energy cost. Also the model of research for opportunity cost analyze of electronic resources preservation consists of six variables: assets cost, maintenance cost, current cost, staff cost, energy cost and information database cost. In this study, the opportunity cost of print and electronic resources was evaluated and analyzed using net present value model. Central Library and Archives Center at Tehran University was examined as case of this study. The net present value of the variables was calculated and evaluated under consideration at intervals of three years, five years, and seven years ago. Using EXCEL 2010 Software, The costs related to each variable associated with the print and electronic resources model were gathered and analyzed separately and the results were compared.
Findings: The result of the Net Present Value analysis of the five variables affecting the maintenance and preservation of print resources and of the six variables affecting the maintenance and preservation of electronic resources indicate that the costs of maintenance of electronic resources at Central Library and Archives Center at Tehran University are much more economical that those of print resources.
