Introduction: The development of Web 2 provides many opportunities for libraries and information centers which its main purpose was mainly to increase the participation and interaction of users. Social tagging is one of the Web2 tools which allow users to collaborate more with the library systems. In this article social tagging is discussed from the perspective of library resources.
Methodology: The related literature covering library OPACs and Websites discussing social tagging was reviewed for gathering data.
Findings: Social tagging is a process in which users label resources, such as images, web pages, or books. Many libraries nowadays provide social tagging through their OPACs which can be considered as a new search facility based on tags added to different resources. However, there are still some challenges such as lack of control, language difficulties, information overload and domination of personal interests and needs of users in tagging process. Using social tagging does not mean omitting the librarian’s role in the classification process, but it presents a new supervisory role for him through which the usability of library system can be improved.

Objective: This study aims to determine the feasibility and possibility of indexing English-language journals published by the University of Tehran in international citation indexes (e.g. Web of Science and Scopus). It would also help to find out the reasons why the majority of these journals are not yet indexed in international citation indexes. This study also provides some strategies to increase the international visibility and accessibility of these journals. Materials and Methods: This descriptive survey examined English-language journals published by Scientific Journals Database of Tehran University, available at https://journals.ut.ac.ir. We have used a combination of qualitative and quantitative measures such as journal citation analysis and a checklist. Citation analysis data was collected from Scopus and Google Scholar, and the checklist was designed upon indexing criteria of Web of Science Core Collection Journal Selection Process and Scopus Content Advisory Board. Results: Findings indicate that the total number of citations per journal was low and therefore only 15 percent of these journals were indexed in international databases and there were only two journals comply with all of the minimum acceptance criteria. Some reasons why they are not yet indexed by international citation databases are the irregularity in publishing, lack of description of the peer-review process and lack of publication ethics and malpractice statement. However, the strong points of these journals are proper publication archive, accessibility, and readability of the content to international readerships. Conclusion: This study helps publishers, editors and decision-makers to improve the quality of international journals and give them the rank and the position of being welcomed by a wider scholar community and accepted by international citation databases.

Purpose: Information ecology refers to the effect of environment on information elements and reaction among information elements in the context and environment which has been used as reactions of subject categories in this research. Therefore, in identifying information ecology, we studied the reaction of subject categories of Knowledge and Information Science with other subjects such as information and communication technology (ICT) in 2001-2011 different journals of knowledge and information science.
Methodology: This was a quantitative content analysis regarding the identification of subject categories of 2510 papers in 9 journals of knowledge and information science indexed in ISC (Islamic Science Citation database). The data collection tool was the schedule of classifying subject categories of KIS confirmed by Delphi Panel in two stages.
Findings: The results showed that all subject categories of KIS have reactions with other subject categories and the reaction of subject categories with information and communication technology (ICT) had more share. In contrast, the reaction of other subject categories in different of science have taken less share. The results of comparing reaction of subject categories ICT separated by journals show the reaction of subject categories with ICT in journals of library and information science of Astan Ghods Razavi, the Iranian Journal of Information Processing & Management, Journal of Academic Librarianship and Information Research, and Research on Information Science & Public Libraries and Informology in the second period (2006-2011) was higher than that in the first period (2001-2005).

Findings: The results of the study showed a significant difference between effective and non-effective icons in terms of familiarity and meaningfulness indicating that, the more familiar and meaningful icons, the more effective they were, and vice versa. Furthermore, there was a relationship between familiarity and meaningfulness of icons; increase of the first one enhances the other one, and vice-versa.
Originality/value: The comparison of effective and non-effective icons concerning familiarity and meaningfulness may help determining cognitive features of effective and non-effective icons. It can also help designers to satisfy the users’ needs and improve their performance through using effective icons.

Purpose: This research aimed to study the role of library services' promotion techniques in the familiarity of clients with services of Central Library of Astan-Quds-Razavi.
Methodology: we used a survey method using a checklist and a researcher-made questionnaire. The first target population was the Central Library of Astan-Quds-Razavi and its website, and the second one was the library clients. To determine the sample size, 180 clients were selected based on Cochran formula through the stratified random sampling. To analyze data, descriptive and inferential statistics were applied using SPSS 20.
Findings: The Central Library of Astan-Quds-Razavi uses more traditional promotion techniques compared to electronic libraries. In total, the library applies more than 50 percent of the identified library promotion techniques. The role of traditional promotion techniques in clients' familiarity with the library services was higher than the medium level and it was at medium level for electronic techniques in this regard.
Originality/value: This is one of the rare studies in the field of library marketing which assesses exclusively library promotion techniques from the clients' perspective. The findings could help the library authorities in order to familiarize clients with the library comprehensive and different services and consequently more library usage and finally get to the library actual position.
